The World Golf Hall of Fame added 2 new members Thursday when it was announced that Lanny Wadkins and Jose Maria Olazabal are to be enshrined November 2, at the World Golf Village in St. Augustine, FL.

Wadkins, who has 21 victories 1 major win and a record tying 8 Ryder Cup appearances, was elected with 61% of the vote.  Rules for PGA Tour players stipulate that a golfer must receive 65% of the vote from Hall of Famer’s, media, and golf executives.  There is a stipulation however, that if no one receives the minimum vote, then the player with the highest percentage (assuming its over 50%) gets elected.  The last golfer to be elected in this manner was Vijay Singh in 2005, who received 58% of the vote.

Olazabal got elected through the international ballot.
