I've heard that the plastic balls aren't that good to practice with. Supposedly they can get you into some bad habits when you go for your swing.

I've been using the plastic things in my backyard for a while now, and have not noticed any negative effects, but they are nice to just get outside and swing at some balls. Plus, you can hit em' hard and they only go like 25 yards :p

What are your opinions?

I've tried the plastic balls and am not a big fan. It's hard to tell exactly what the flight direction of the ball, which makes tweaking your swing difficult (or you tweak it the wrong way). If I'm going to practice, I'll usually go to the driving range near my house. Or I'll do some short chipping practice in my front yard.

Yeah, I much prefer the range aswell, I guess that plastic things are only there to get the basics right, keep your head down, follow through and proper posture.

They are good for letting off some steam. LOL! I like to swing at them in the yard sometimes to relieve some stress.

i use the plastic ones but just to get my little one to laugh. He just thinks that they are hilarious. And using the plastic ones are just safer around him at the moment.

I can imagine that you keep your little one entertain by hitting those balls. Do you let him pick up any of the balls?

LOL. Yea it keeps him entertained and he gets exercise by chasing them around and bringing them back to me. He wants to play with the clubs as well, but i dont think I am ready for a one year old golfer just yet!
