I have been seriously thinking of using the BASE BALL grip for the golf. Why not?
I think this grip will give me more secure feeling. I can hit the ball with such an safe feeling and confidence. I know virtually all PROs in tour are not using Base Ball grip.
But, what is wrong with the base ball grip?
Any thought?

That's an excellent question. I'm hoping someone else can give us a good answer, because I'm curious about the answer myself.

I started playing when in my mid -50s and found that my hands and fingers did not like either the interlocking or overlapping grips recommended in the magazines. I switched to the baseball grip and found little effect on my game (remains around a 13 hdcp) but got rid of the discomfort.

I hope i am not wrong. but the basic difference here you can see, a baseball grip is a bot heavier than a golf grip. Also, this can put some extra pressure on our finger too. Due to which we might miss a hit. As far what i can suggest if you are capable to carry it, then only you try. Otherwise just drop the idea or practice before the game.

Thank you. I finally hear some positive feedbacks. I will use it and refine it.
I guess I will get more ticker grip like the grip in baseball bat.
All right?
Thanks.

Used 10 finger for a lot of years...Just stopped using and went back to the inter lock...
In my humble opinion, you have a tendency to grip too tight and tense your forearms, thus.
lose power...with interlock grip it appears to result in a lighter grip thus, more distance

I think the baseball grip is not widely used because the hands tend to twist individually more than when you interlock or overlap. BUT, golf is very individual and you need to go experiment and use what feels comfortable to you. I've always heard that the baseball grip requires VERY good hand-eye coordination. Good luck.

The golf grip or baseball grip is simply a golf grip that puts all ten fingers in contact with the right hand golf club. The wraps around the shaft below the left hand in addition to a palm a handful of baseball grip. With normal, the same mechanism can be used if you can now see how a little wrist cock back in motion.
